Visiting Southcrest

We understand that the past couple of years have been difficult for everyone with a friend or relative in care. At Southcrest, we do our best to ensure that our residents stay in contact with the friends and families even when it may not be possible for them to visit.

We ask our families to let us know when they are visiting so we can ensure they spend all of their time visiting without disturbance from us.

This was something we started during the pandemic and our families have found works well. We have a booking system in place for people who like to be organised and for those that prefer to be more spontaneous that's okay too.

Visiting can be arranged by telephoning us on 01527 550720 or if preferred by email: adminsouthcrest@millstreamuk.com

Please refer to the information below which provides some guidance about the best times to visit us

Weekday Visits

We have visiting available throughout the day.  As visits usually take place in a resident's room it is advised only 2 visitors at any one time. We do not usually accept visitors at mealtimes as we provide physical support to most of our residents. However, if you do wish to be involved in supporting your loved one at mealtimes, please let us know. There are also opportunities to visit outside of the times listed. If you would like to discuss - please get in touch.

PLEASE NOTE

We still provide our visitors with the opportunity to wear a facemask, and some of our staff also wear them when delivering intimate or close contact care. This is to protect the people who live with us as they are extremely clinically vulnerable. Whilst a lot of measures have been relaxed post pandemic, there are still some that we benefit from.

When visiting, we ask that you clean your hands on entering the home and if you are wearing a facemask, please wear it properly (covering your nose and mouth). Our visitors are discouraged from entering communal areas where other people are spending time to minimise risk of cross infection.

Please note that our staff will not routinely remain in the room with you as we continue to practice safe distancing with others. When you leave the home place your facemask in the yellow bin at the door and cleanse your hands using the hand sanitiser

If you are unwell do not visit us. What may be a common cold or cough for you could result in a serious infectious outbreak for our residents which could result in unnecessary harm or death
